No matter what role you play there is always time to take care of you!

I look back on the journey that brought me to where I am today and I see lots of sticky fingers, laundry, dog walks, and last minute runs to the store for essential needs for this busy family. All this everyday stuff defines what my purpose with Radiant with Rebecca was founded on.

When I finally tried the first toxin for my wrinkles I felt how will I have time? Is this something for me? I quickly learned YES!! This needs to be possible for everyone if they want it. This didn’t only become a dream for me to help others with finding a way, it became my passion.

About Rebecca

A wife, mom, stepmom, daughter, sister, friend, nurse, and pet mom doesn’t leave me much time for much else other than just being busy. Availability quickly became one the core foundations making beauty regimes accessible for all clients. Mobile, after hours, weekend availability became life changing for the everyday person and a necessity for what I can provide for you.

I believe quality products should always be available for someone that is looking for the luxurious radiant beauty with little time available. Spend your time on the rest of your life that matters. Let me give you a relaxing treatment whether it is in your home or in my centrally located home. This gives you the availability to feel fresh, radiant, and being pampered when it works for you. Don’t let that everyday busy life take away from what makes your true radiance shine.

Let me take care of you.

Where to start… I feel like my life has been a constant change of experiences. When I was in high school and early college I wanted to be a SWAT team member. I trained as well as taught martial arts for years after obtaining my black belt. I took rappelling courses and specialized training for police duties. After signing on as a reserve police officer I quickly realized this was not for me. Somehow a friend of mine, Ryan, altered the course of my life. He somehow talked me into nursing school. At the time I was working at a grocery store and playing poker to try and help my mom make ends meet. Eventually, I flunked out of nursing school at Garden City Community College. I knew I had to do something with my life so I moved to Emporia Kansas to give school another shot. I joined the nursing program at Emporia State University.

Oddly enough in my off time from school I couldn’t find a regular poker game. I had to be doing something all the time. One day, I saw David Blane performing a street magic special on tv. I recorded that special with my VCR (low key dating myself). I saw some of the magic tricks he did and watched them in slow motion until I figured out how to do them. The study of magic became this weird thing I had to do. So, while in nursing school magic became something I did for my patients in the hospital. That grew into me performing for churches, weddings, events in the community, and a specific doctor would have me round with him while he did procedures to patients. Once I had essentially mastered the amount of magic I could handle I became bored with it.It was time to start something else.

About Josh

I started teaching myself guitar to destress during school. After a year of playing I realized the calluses on my fingers were making it difficult to feel for an IV. One of my goals during nursing was to be clinically sound. I wanted to be the guy everyone went to when they had an issue with IVs. I had to put the guitar away for that time being. That’s when I found the Rubik’s cube. I remember watching "The Pursuit of Happiness" featuring Will Smith. If Will Smith can do a Rubik's Cube surely I can right? I found a fantastic tutorial on YouTube from a guy named Dan Brown. Practiced for months and now I can solve a cube in minutes.

On top of the black belt, magic, guitar, Rubik’s cube… I met an amazing deaf couple in the hospital. They had been in a car accident and the husband had broken both of the long bones in his legs. Meeting the wife and the interpreter changed the direction of my life again. I immediately signed up for sign language that following semester. I loved learning to sign with the couple at work as they were going to be there for a long time. I went to several deaf pot luck dinners at the local church with the patient's wife. Amazing people. I loved the experience. Oddly, my college roommate and I thought it would be funny to put our profiles up on a website called hotornot.com so we could see who got rated higher. Seeing my profile, a girl reached out to me to have lunch with her and her deaf roommates so we could practice ASL (American Sign Language). Through a set of events I started playing softball on the all deaf team and met a deaf girl I dated for several years. I absolutely love the deaf community.

Fast forward a couple years and I found myself in the Emergency Department at Shawnee Mission Medical Center. This is where I met Rebecca for the first time. She and I used to race each other to see who could treat our patients the fastest. We just seemed to work well together. She and I eventually moved into different roles. I went into a leadership role of Critical Care Float Nurse, PICCline Nurse, Patient Care Supervisor, and IV Educator. I was essentially one of the go to guys for everything. For many years I was the guy people reached out to when an IV was “impossible.”

Moving into these new roles put me into a position where I walked the hospital daily. In my travels I noticed that the chapel had a grand piano. Of course I had to start messing around on it. To this day I love stopping at any piano I see to play. Piano is now on top of my many other hobbies. I love woodworking and have a small woodworking shop in my garage. I love to workout and if you have seen my instagram page you may see my home gym. I’m also very much into shooting sports and traveling with my girlfriend Irene.

But Josh, how did you ever get into a medical spa!? Rebecca asked me to come check out her spa after she had opened. After coming down to see the place I was blown away with what she had done. She then said, “try Botox it’s amazing!” To which I laughed and said, “you’re crazy!” Let’s be clear. I have always thought Aesthetics was a bunch of “hogwash” and I openly admit that. But after Rebecca somehow convinced me to sit in her chair and trust her with multiple needles in my face that can paralyze muscles…..looking back that sounds crazy. But it is AMAZING!! First of all, my forehead sweats a lot. My skin is naturally oily. When I have tox I don’t sweat as much! (Which is something tox can be used for) I didn’t realize that. And seeing people's before and after progress in pictures has me hooked. Aesthetics is turning into another thing for me to dive into and master.

I hope that I can bring that same feeling that I had with my first experience to all of my clients.

About Vicky

Born in Manhattan, KS and raised in Olathe by strict Indian immigrants. I was blessed enough to have parents that worked hard enough that my sister and I got to grow up visiting our family in India every few years. The first time that I remember seeing where my parents grew up was an eye opener. My mom quite literally built herself up from nothing and that has always stuck with me & my dad having to overcome his own obstacles has given me a unique perspective.

I grew up with competitive gymnastics being my whole life; as in 4 hour practices 5 days a week during the school year and “two-a-day” practices during the summers. I competed on a national level and was offered a partial scholarship to UNC. My plan had always been to compete on a collegiate level, so when I severely injured my ankles multiple times and had to turn down the scholarship, my world fell apart.

I eventually picked myself up and went to KSU thinking about vet school. I did a study abroad program in South Africa and it was another eye opening experience that I will never forget. I did realize, however much fun I had at KSU, that vet school was not my calling and came back home. I took some classes at JCCC, joined the Kansas Army National Guard as a medic and eventually ended up at KU where I met my husband (an ex Army Ranger) & stepdaughter. We decided to do a small wedding with close friends and family in Maui and we had the time of our life for those 2 weeks snorkeling, surfing, laying by the beach, exploring the road to Hana, watching the sunset on top of volcano Haleakala & everything in between.

After graduating with my BSN, I started my nursing career on nightshift in the ER at Advent where Rebecca, Josh & I met. After a few years, my husband’s pharmacist job took us to Corpus Christi, TX and I wound up in the busiest & most critical trauma centers I have ever worked at. I did several ER travel assignments throughout the Texas and KC areas. While living by the beach had its perks, we missed KC and knew it was time to come home.

During my last few contracts, my perfectionist, plan ahead, research & detail driven personality took over and I began educating myself and taking courses on everything aesthetic medicine; basically immersing myself in this industry. And I love it. I had always known I wanted to end up in the aesthetics field at some point and I honestly think all those years of pushing my comfort zones in travel contracts gave me the confidence to fully jump in. So that’s what I did and it was perfect timing… I saw Rebecca was hiring and knew this team already aligned with my work ethic, evidence-based practices, education and safety practices.

A few random things about me: I have been vegan for about 5 years and I will get Becca and Josh to eat well made tofu one day! I have always had rescue pets and used to volunteer at shelters. Pit bull type breeds and misjudged breeds will ALWAYS hold a special place in my heart. They just need a 2nd chance, patience & lots of love. Just like we do, as humans.

I am honestly so happy to find my home here at Radiant; I have not been genuinely excited to study in a while and everything aesthetics is so interesting and I am here for it all! I’m always looking to better my understanding and education. I want to know the ins and outs of each treatment & procedure I’m doing and I take it seriously.
